GET TO KNOW STEPHANIE

Stephanie believes that good mental health begins with a safe place to talk honestly about life's difficulties. Her journey to becoming a counselor began when she was teaching high school and realized that many students had no safe space to talk about their struggles and desired to give that to them. Then, with her own time in counseling, she experienced the growth and healing that counseling can bring and knew she wanted to help bring it to others.

Stephanie grew up in Texas and received her undergraduate degree at Sam Houston State University. She then received a Masters of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary before moving to Orlando to earn a Masters in Counseling at Reformed Theological Seminary.

Stephanie specializes in grief counseling and maternal mental health (pregnancy, postpartum, infertility) and has spent the last few years partnering with The Finley Project , an organization that offers resources to moms who have experienced infant loss. She also has experience working with people from varying religious backgrounds, and has worked with anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, relationship issues, teenage issues, spiritual issues, and those who have a family member with mental illness. Stephanie is also certified in premarital counseling.

In her free time, Stephanie enjoys the beach, board games, and walks with her husband.
Stephanie works out of Lumen Counseling located at 1971 Lee Road in Winter Park, FL.
